As a rule, I don't do fan art but as this was for FOX and it does showcase my ability to play nice with other people's intellectual properties it seems like a good idea to post the result. This is a detail of the piece, which was actually a poster
The kanji on her shirt reads goroshi, which is the Japanese word for "slayer" as a nod the otaku crowd, even though I really wanted to give her a GIR shirt (forbidden by the client) but rest assured this will happen sometime in the future
Grime texture was used to keep the piece from looking too slick, in conjunction with rimlighting to find edges and pop choice areas out. This gave the work a nice painterly feel that I enjoy, so you're sure to see more of this technique in future endeavors- Please look forward to it!
