Lately I've been focused on injecting more mood into my work; not simply facial expressions but the entire pose and lighting as well. This piece is a fine example of that direction, we have a minimalist composition with an entirely static pose and there isn't much going on yet there is a gravitas that is evoked by the subtle nuances in her pose and the overall atmosphere
Although she is alone and perhaps even meloncholy, she is content to remain by herself; she is not compelled to seek solace in the company of others. Rather, she prefers to remain in a personal reverie
