A lifelong fan of H.P.Lovecraft, I've done countless studies of old sushi-head. Possibly since he comes out looking different every time, I never get tired of drawing him. There really isn't a need for consistency when you're drawing an extra-dimensional deity!

This particular study comes from my Seattle sketchbook, when I was visiting the esteemed Rich Reading. I borrowed his daughter Paisley's white crayon for blending purposes and by way of recompense, she scribbled over most of my other sketches. The forces of chaos pale beside the nature of five year old girls...

To be fair, I don't actually know if she meant it as payback or she just wanted to get in on the fun. Perhaps she thought the black and white studies needed a bit of color? But I did ask to borrow the crayon
